The Inaakonigewin Committee

In 2015, the board created a committee called “Inaakonigewin,” intended to oversee the Anishinaabe portions of our mission and goals, including the archives.  The word, “Inaakonigewin” means to go inward, to go toward the spirit, to learn what our purpose is in life and to discern the life-steps toward that purpose. Translated for the organization, it means that we intend to be fully multi-cultural: in board leadership, and in the programming on Ober’s Islands.
