Bird House

A lacy confection of cedar bark logs and branches, it reaches three stories into the sky, has windows all around for beautiful views, and can be reached only by a footbridge. It was named by Ober's friend and traveling companion, Billy Magee, who on first seeing it declared that it looked like a “birdhouse.” On warm evenings Ober often slept on top, gaining access to the the roof through a trapdoor.
